Day 8 – Pushkar to Jaipur

We allowed ourselves a lie-in and started out an hour later than usual. Unfortunately we then hit bike trouble and punctures and arrived in Jaipur for the rush hour, just as it was getting dark.
Imagine London at its busiest. Hyde Park Corner plus. Then take away all the traffic lights, road markings and any reference to the highway code. Add all the MOT failures you can find, plus a few camels and rickshaws and throw in a good dose of anarchy. This will give you an idea of driving in an Indian city at night.
Somehow we all made it safely to the hotel, an oasis of calm amidst the chaos.
